
So far, early voting is not as popular as it was during the 2020 presidential election cycle.
Thirty three days from the November 5 election, statewide totals show in 2020 674,947 early votes had been cast. This year thirty three days out, 479,331 early votes have been counted. That is 29% below the 2020 totals.
In Accomack County, 33 days before voting day in 2020, 2,720 early ballots had been cast. This year’s total 33 days out is 2,319 or 15% down from 2020.
Northampton also is reporting fewer early voters to date. In 2020, 33 days before election day, 1,734 votes had been cast. In 2024, the total is 1,322 or 24% below the 2020 totals.
Just a reminder, Tuesday, October 15 is the last day to officially register to vote in the 2024 election. You can still register after that date but you will be issued a provisional ballot.
Voters can vote early during regular business hours at local voter registrars offices in Accomac and Eastville. Early voting will be available on Saturdays a both locations on October 26 and November 2. After November 2 voting can be done at your regular precinct location on Tuesday November 5, election day.
