The Eastern Shore Public Library is offering their “Food for Fines” good will program during the month of December.  For each donated can of food, the library will waive $1 of overdue fines, up to a maximum of $10.  Canned food must be before the sell-bydate and will be donated to the Food Bank.  Canned pet food is also being accepted for donation to the SPCA.  This program provides the opportunity for library patrons to start the new year with a clear library account while partnering with organizations that work to address food insecurity on the Shore. “Food for Fines” is taking place at all four Eastern Shore of Virginia libraries located in Accomac, Cape Charles, Chincoteague, and Nassawadox.

The libraries will only be closed on Monday, December 25, 2017 and Monday, January 1, 2018.  Free children’s movies will be shown at Accomac and Nassawadox.  Visit the website for viewing times or call the library.  For more information about library services or if you have concerns about the fines or fees on your library card, please call the library at (757) 787-3400.
