The Accomack County Board of Supervisors heard from Holly Porter, incoming executive director of the Delmarva Poultry Industry at their regular meeting Wednesday night. Porter said that progress is being made with DEQ on a consent order requiring chicken houses that draw over 300,000 per month to meter their water usage and report to DEQ.   Porter said that all poultry growers have been notified and been made aware of the requirement.   Porter said that metering will provide DEQ with a wealth of data on water usage by the poultry houses.
