Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened late Friday night on the Route 175 Chincoteague Causeway in Accomack County.
Police said the crash happened around 10:17 p.m. when a 2000 Ford Explorer was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of the causeway.
According to investigators, the Ford collided head-on with a 2014 Toyota Camry that was traveling westbound. The impact sent the Ford over the jersey wall and into the marsh.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 25-year-old Tyler W. Crockett, died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
