The Onancock Vol. Fire Co will be hosting the Onancock Harbor Challenge from 9 a.m. -4 p.m. There will be sup races, a kayak relay, paper boat race, crab pot painting and kids buoy painting. There will be live music and food. The Harbor Challenge will benefit the Station 9 Tanker Fund.
New Allen Memorial A.M.E. Church Senior Ushers are sponsoring a Flea Market across from Little Italy in Nassawadox, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 7 AM until 2 PM.
There will be a food and bake sale at Onley United Methodist Church from 8 am until noon. Bake goods include cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, and rolls. Food includes frozen cassaroles, soups, fresh salads and more.
Just for youth — a safe, fun experience in shooting sports education without cost to participants is planned for September 21, 2019. The rain date is September 28th. Our Youth Sportsfest Event is open to all girls and boys, ages from 8 to 18. The NOAAWIVA Sportsmen, Inc. will host the day event. Our range is located on Chincoteague Road (Rt. 175E) near Oak Hall, VA. NOAAWIVA Sportsmen, Inc. is hosting the free event as a community service supported by the Brownell/NRA Day Program. Drinks and food will be available to all attending. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. All required equipment is provided without cost (ex. — hearing and eye protection, the guns to be used, ammunition and targets). The event begins at 8:30 AM with registration and will end about 3:30 PM. Activities include a shooting safety orientation followed by 20-gauge shotgun/clay-bird, .22-rifle target, air gun target and junior high power rifle competitions. The Accomack County Parks & Recreation Department will be having Youth Flag Football practice and sign-ups on Saturday, September 21st , starting at 9:0 0AM at the Saw Mill Park. Age groups are 5-8 and 9-12. Looking to start games in early October.

There will be a Great Day in the Park at Robert Reed Downtown Park on Chincoteague Saturday from 11 AM-5 PM. There will be food, games, entertainment and it’s all free. Everyone is invited.
The Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Eastern Shore Laboratory, will host their sixth annual Marine Life Day on Saturday, September 21st. The event will take place from noon – 4pm in the Seawater Laboratory located at 40 Atlantic Avenue, Wachapreague.
Come out and experience a fun and educational day exploring marine life found on Virginia’s Eastern Shore! This event will showcase marine science research being conducted at VIMS’ Eastern Shore Laboratory. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of marine organisms in touch tanks and live displays, study creatures under microscopes, learn about marine science through activities and crafts, and discuss current research projects with scientists from various fields of study. Featured research and displays will include shellfish, crustaceans, fish, sharks, and many more!
