It’s a busy holiday weekend across the Shore, with Christmas events and community fundraisers happening from Pocomoke to Cape Charles.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Pocomoke City is holding its 10th annual Cookies-by-the-Pound Sale this Saturday, December 13th. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the church on Third Street, offering a wide variety of cookies and candies—many of them freezer-friendly for later holiday gatherings.

In Quinby, the Smith Chapel M.C. Thrift Store will be open Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m., featuring all Christmas items at half price.

Pocomoke City is also home to the First Annual Christmas Shoppers Fair, hosted by the Great Pocomoke Fair. That event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2037 Broad Street, with craft vendors, door prizes, and holiday goods. For more details, contact organizer Dawn Bloxom.

The Tasley Volunteer Fire Company is serving up clam fritters and clam chowder today from 11 to 2 at the firehouse near the Whispering Pines intersection on Route 13.

A Live Nativity will take place at Onley Baptist Church December 13th and 14th from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitors can walk through a small town setting, meet characters from the Christmas story, and enjoy refreshments and an art show.

Santa will be stopping by Bojangles in Onley for a visit on December the 13th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Bring the whole family for a cheerful holiday moment. Kids can chat with Santa, snap a pic, and pick up a candy cane on their way out. There will be holiday music, smiles, and festive fun.

In Onancock, Santa makes a special arrival by boat at the town wharf at 11 a.m. Saturday, accompanied by kayak “reindeer” and music from the Accomack Community Band.

The town also hosts a Holiday Artisan Market from 10 to 3, Breakfast with Elves at the North Street Playhouse from 10 to 1, and a Christmas Homes Tour from 1 to 5.

The Cokesbury Music Festival begins at 2 p.m. with performances from local musicians, and many events include holiday food-drive donations.

Meanwhile in Parksley, the Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration gets underway Saturday evening from 5 to 7 at the Town Pavilion and Railway Museum. Families can enjoy s’mores, crafts, cocoa in the historic dining car, and a visit from Santa arriving by fire truck. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
