Hannah Annis’ CPR Classes

Hannah Annis’ CPR CLASSES… The only regularly scheduled BLS and CPR First Aid classes on the Eastern Shore. Held at the Tasley Vol Fire Co. every first and last Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 pm and the first Saturday of every month from 9:30-11:30 am.

Indoor Soccer at Broadwater Academy

INDOOR SOCCER AT Broadwater Academy

Paul Nolz, former soccer coach of Nandua High School will be hosting an indoor soccer league starting January 18 and concluding by the end of March. The league has three divisions, Elementary school (ages 7 to 10) and Middle School, ages 11 to 14 (or through the eighth grade) and high school. All matches will be played on Saturday afternoons in the gym at Broadwater Academy. There are no practices and the games last for one hour. Grace Church on Wilson Avenue in Parksley is having Thrift Shops from 9 am until 1 pm on Saturday, March 1, Wednesday, March 5 and Saturday, March 8.  New inventory added each sale day. There’s something for everyone at Grace!

ES Angler’s Club Fundraising Dinner

The Eastern Shore Anglers Club will have their annual Fundraising event on March 1st. at the Onancock Elks Lodge.

Nassawadox Rehabilitation and Nursing .

There are over 50 local artisans and businesses donating Carvings, Art, Charter Fishing trips and gift certificates to be auctioned off and as raffle prizes. There will also be door prizes given out. Any donations are still being accepted. The event will start out with a social hour, then a meal provided by the Elks Lodge. Then an Awards ceremony for all the Club member Anglers who registered big fish for 2024. Following this will start the raffle prizes and Auction.

This is the One and only Fundraising event that is held to raise funds for the Four, Kid’s Free Fishing Days. Last year alone which the cost totaled over $7000.00. ONLY 250 tickets will be sold. Start time is 4:30. This is a BYOB event.

Accomack NAACP’s Annual Freedom Fund Banquet and Image Awards Ceremony

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Accomack NAACP will host its Annual Freedom Fund Banquet and Image Awards Ceremony at Mary N. Smith Cultural Center in Accomac, VA. The event will begin with a networking reception at 5:00 p.m. and the formal banquet at 6:00 p.m.

The event’s theme is, “Together, We Are Stronger.” All proceeds from the Banquet will benefit the NAACP’s local and state programming. We are excited to announce that Ms. Gaylene Kanoyton, the first vice president of the Virginia State NAACP, will be the keynote speaker for our upcoming event.

Tickets are available for $75. To purchase tickets, sponsor the event, donate, or place an ad in the souvenir booklet, please email [email protected] or contact any chapter member. You can also call 757-694-5172 or 757-665-6354 for more information.

Please note, no tickets will be sold at the door. For a nominal fee, groups, organizations, and churches may reserve a table. This is encouraged. For more information on how to reserve a table, please contact any Accomack NAACP member.

The Orchestra of the Eastern Shore

The Orchestra of the Eastern Shore under the direction of Amanda Gates will present the “Three B’s” which will include:  Bruch’s Violin Concerto no. 1 with Soloist Vahn Armstrong, Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, and Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dance.  The performance will be Sunday, March 2nd at 4:00 pm at Hungars Episcopal Church in Bridgetown.  Concerts are free however donations are welcomed.
