Cape Charles 4th of July Parade

Come and enjoy our 4th of July celebration with a golf cart parade starting at 10 am. The following roads will be closed in town from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM: Fig St/Washington Ave to Peach/Mason, Washington/Strawberry St intersection, Washington/Pine intersection, Washington/Nectarine intersection, Jefferson/Harbor intersection, Madison/Harbor intersection, Monroe/Harbor intersection, Tazewell/Harbor intersection, Randolph/Harbor intersection, Mason/Harbor intersection, Mason/Pine intersection, Strawberry/Mason. There will be having a street fair in the historic district between 11 am and 4 pm with local vendors and food trucks. Fireworks will begin around 9 pm.

Wachapreague Independence Day Parade

The town of Wachapreague will be having a non-motorized Independence Day Parade this morning beginning at 10:00 AM. Main St from Bradford Neck Rd to Brooklyn Ave and Brooklyn Ave to Ice Plant Rd will be closed from 10:00 until noon.

Accomac Non Motorized Parade

There will be a non motorized July 4 Parade in Accomac starting at 10 a.m. today. Front Street from Joynes Neck Rd to Courthouse Ave will be closed from 10:00 till noon.

Drummondtown Baptist 20th Annual 4th of July BBQ

DBC’s 20th Annual 4th of July BBQ will take place immediately after the Town of Accomac’s 4th of July Parade. Pre-orders for containers are now being taken. You can call 757-787-2109 to place your order or stop by the Church on July 4th at the corners of Front and Back Street. Containers are $12. Sandwiches will be on sale for $8. Baked goods, soda, water and cole slaw will also be available. Proceeds from BBQ sales go toward DBC’s stained glass window fund and proceeds from the bake table sales go toward DBC’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team.

Chincoteague Island Library to host a Non-Motorized Independence Day Parade

All are invited to participate in a July 4th non-motorized parade around Robert Reed Park. Rain or Shine! Walk, ride a bike, pull a wagon, use your imagination. (Sorry, pets are not permitted in the park) Gift cards donated by Island Creamery will be awarded for the oldest participant, the youngest participant, and the largest family group. The parade begins at 10 o’clock. Line up starts at 9:30 AM.

There will be an opening ceremony with a welcome from Paul Miller, President of the Library Board, an invocation by Pastor Phil Bennicoff and a Mayor’s Welcome by Arthur Leonard. Little Miss Chincoteague, Scarlet Brizak and Junior Miss Chincoteague, Olivia Cherrix will be at the parade! America the Beautiful will be performed by Amy and Harper Stewart to kick off the parade!

Uncle Sam will be leading the parade around the park! After the parade cupcakes, and water will be served. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the parade!

Participation in the parade is free and no pre-registration is required! Assemble for the parade on the walkway adjacent to Bridge Street.

Fireworks at the Chincoteague Vol. Fireman’s Carnival

The Chincoteague Volunteer Fireman’s Carnival features rides, games, fun, and food – Chincoteague Island style! A great variety of food is available for purchase from hot dogs and pizza to clam and oyster fritters. Rides and games for all ages. Live entertainment on the stage. Try your luck at BINGO too. Open June 28-29, July 4-6, July 19-20, July 22-27.. All proceeds benefit the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
