You are invited to visit the Chincoteague Island Library!   From April 8-13 the Chincoteague Island Library encourages new visitors as well as old friends to stop in to the Library during National Library Week. Everyone who stops in will have the opportunity to enter a free drawing for a tote full of great gifts including gift certificates to local merchants and Library goodies. The Library will be hosting the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce “Business After Hours” networking event on Wednesday, April 10 at 5:00 PM.

April 8-13 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the role of libraries in the community. “The Library means so many things to so many people. Providing free access to media, hosting programs for children and adults, and strengthening our community opportunities for lifelong learning.” said Linda Ryan, President of the Chincoteague Island Library Board of Directors. “The Library is proud to partner with other civic and community organizations to actively engage the people we all serve. We hope that the residents of Chincoteague Island as well as the surrounding communities will stop in during this special week to learn more about what the Library has to offer.”

The Chincoteague Island Library is celebrating National Library Week by inviting residents to make a special trip to the Library to see what is new, tour the Library and submit their name free for a chance to win a of tote bag filled with gift certificates and wonderful Library goodies.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.

The Chincoteague Island Library is located at 4077 Main Street, Chincoteague, Virginia.  The Library serves the community 41 hours per week year round.
