The Chincoteague Island Library is pleased to announce that its Summer 2026 Children’s Program schedule is set, offering a variety of educational and fun activities for youngsters and families during July and August.
This year’s lineup includes two weekly programs designed to serve children of different age groups. Tales 4 Tots, for children ages 2-5, will be held every Thursday at 10 AM at the Chincoteague Island Library. Young Explorers, for children ages 5 and older, will meet Thursdays at 10 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, unless otherwise noted.
In addition, the library will host one special event for children od all ages: Coastal Wild, an interactive zoo program, on August 8 at 2 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
All programs are free and open to residents and visitors alike, thanks in part to our generous supporters and the hard work of our volunteers and staff. Families are encouraged to follow the library on Facebook for updates, reminders, and program‑specific details throughout the summer.
“The library is happy to offer this diverse schedule for summer programs for residents and visitors, said Diane Fisher, spokesperson for the summer programs. Providing meaningful and fun activities for children of all ages is an important part of the library’s service to the community.”
