The 37th Annual Blueberry Festival opens today at the Chincoteague Center, located at 6155 Community Drive. The event runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., today through Saturday.
Billed as the largest indoor-outdoor fine arts and crafts festival on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the Blueberry Festival features over 100 artists and crafters from 14 states. Visitors can explore a wide selection of handmade goods including jewelry, pottery, woodworking, fiber arts, photography, and more. Live music and family-friendly craft stations will add to the festive atmosphere throughout the three-day event.
A highlight of the festival is its abundance of blueberry-themed treats. Guests can enjoy fresh, locally harvested blueberries, along with blueberry pancakes, pies, muffins, shortcake, smoothies, and even blueberry snowballs. Food trucks and vendors will also offer classic summer fare across the festival grounds.
Daily admission is $6 for adults and $2 for children under 12. Multi-day passes are available on-site. The venue is wheelchair-accessible and pet-friendly, with free parking offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Discount coupons can be found on the festival website and through the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce.
Held just ahead of Pony Swim Week, the Blueberry Festival is a seasonal favorite for both locals and visitors, bringing together food, art, and community in celebration of summer on the Shore.
