A 26-year-old Exmore man, who was initially charged with a felony, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Northampton Circuit Court to misdemeanor eluding police and driving on a suspended license due to a previous DUI.
A count of reckless driving was also dismissed against Jeremiah Washington Brisco, of 6th Street, in a plea agreement with Assistant Prosecutor Vincent deLalla. The allegations were connected to incidents that occurred on Aug. 24.
Brisco was sentenced to six months in jail, with all but one month suspended for eluding. He was given a 12-month suspended sentence for driving while his license was suspended. The terms were set to run consecutively.
Brisco’s driver’s license was also suspended for a year. He was permitted to serve his time on weekends. He will be on good behavior for 18 months and was ordered to pay all court costs.
