Broadwater Academy art teacher Tatum Ford has been selected by the College Board to serve as an AP Exam Reader for AP Studio Art and Design, a prestigious appointment given to top educators from across the country and around the world.
Ford will travel to Salt Lake City this summer to join a select group of Advanced Placement readers who will evaluate student portfolios for the AP Art and Design exam. Chosen from thousands of applicants, Ford’s selection reflects her talent, dedication, and deep expertise in the field of visual arts education.
A respected artist and educator across Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Ford is known not only for her creative work but also for her commitment to the Broadwater Academy community. A Broadwater alumna herself, she brings passion and energy to the classroom, inspiring students through both traditional and nontraditional artistic mediums. In addition to teaching fine art and design, Ford has mentored student decoy carvers and budding taxidermists, helping them develop craftsmanship rooted in local heritage.
Ford’s influence extends beyond the classroom. Her two daughters are students at Broadwater, making her contributions to the school both professional and personal.
