Monika Bridgforth, right, Executive Director of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Community Foundation (ESVCF), spoke to the Eastern Shore Christian Businessmen’s Association recently, The ESVCF will mark its 20th anniversary this year and has awarded $4.5 million in grants to local nonprofits since forming in 2004.
The mission of the ESVCF is to create and provide philanthropic resources to meet a broad range of needs for the benefit of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Its unrestricted funds focus on six areas for grant funding: Family, Child and Social Welfare; Public and Civic Life; Arts and Culture: Education: Health: and the Environment. At left is Jerry Phillips, president of he ESCBA, an organization which meets monthly to promote Christian principles and ethical decisions in all business dealings.
