Franktown contractor indicted on six counts

Details about six direct indictments brought last month against a local contractor by a Northampton Grand Jury were made public Monday.

Forty-seven-year-old Richard Brassfield, of Wellington Neck Road in Franktown, was indicted on two counts each of construction fraud, embezzling more than $1,000, and obtaining more than $1,000 by false pretenses. The offenses were alleged to have occurred on March 22, 2022, and June 24, 2020.

Brassfield’s Build Zoom account reports an alert that he does not hold an active license. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned in Northampton Circuit Court on Dec. 9.  He was arrested on Nov. 22.
