Bay Creek set for new ownership as development group announces purchase agreement

The Bay Creek Companies have announced that Bay Creek Development Group, led by Michael Schoenfeld and Samuel Silverman, has entered into a contract to purchase the Bay Creek community from its current ownership group, which includes Bay Creek Development, Bay Creek Resort, and Bay Creek South.

The transaction, scheduled to close in mid-July 2025, marks a new chapter for the waterfront community, which is located along the Chesapeake Bay on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Schoenfeld and Silverman bring extensive experience in the financing and development of upscale residential and resort properties across the country.

According to the announcement, the new ownership team plans to invest significantly in Bay Creek and guide it toward becoming a vibrant and inclusive community that honors the region’s natural beauty. Schoenfeld, who has deep ties to the Southeast, and Silverman, who previously worked in golf course development with Jack Nicklaus, have collaborated on developments such as Snake River Sporting Club, Tamarack, Wohali, and Grand Park.

The pair emphasized their commitment to preserving Bay Creek’s character while introducing enhancements that reflect their vision of blending coastal charm with modern sophistication. They describe Bay Creek as a “rare opportunity” and say they look forward to deepening its connections with the surrounding Cape Charles community.
