Many Eastern Shore residents experienced higher than normal electric bills at the end of last month.
According to a press release, A&N Electric Cooperative is aware that some of its members have experienced higher-than-normal bills recently, which is related to meter exchanges for the meter system upgrade.
Unfortunately, a delay in a portion of meter exchanges caused them to become out of sync with our normal meter reading schedule. This resulted in some ANEC members having bills that include usage in excess of the preferred 30-day bill period. Not all members who have received a new meter were affected by this issue.
The cooperative has identified the issue and has taken steps to minimize the effects on cooperative members moving forward.
A&N Electric Cooperative is asking members who received a larger-than-normal bill because of the additional days, to call the cooperative at (757) 787-9750. ANEC member service representatives are ready to work with those members to help minimize the effects of this issue.
