While many have speculated the new Tasley Volunteer Fire Department is a kit building, the construction of the new facility on Route 13 in Tasley is a little different than other new buildings in our area. The new facility is actually being constructed by Amish carpenters.
Here is Tasley Fire Chief Jeff Bell talking about the carpenter’s methods with Tom Parks on 105.7 Coastal Country’s ‘Firefighter Friday’s’ interview:
After the prepared lot sat for months due to the unusually wet spring, construction finally began in early May and the shell of the building is now fully completed.
The interior of the building is now being completed. Bell said there is no official timeline for the move of the Tasley Volunteer Fire Company from their current location on Tasley Road.
