Quiet indictments alleging 14 violent crimes were brought by a multijurisdictional grand jury in June against four area men and were made public this week. The suspects are alleged to have ties with a local street gang.
Two of the suspects, 26-year-old Taquan Lee Bell, a truck driver who works for Perdue and lives on Gibson Lane in Accomac, and 23-year-old Quizal Kylik Kellam, also known as Front or Frontline, of Seaside Road in Painter, were denied bond in Accomack Circuit Court Thursday. They were said to be a danger to the community.
Also indicted, according to court records, were Zyshon Tiakeem Bell, known as Problem, whose age was not unavailable, of Princess Anne, Md.; and 39-year-old Markiece Obryant Harmon, known as Issue (or I$$UE), who is associated with addresses in Painter and Parksley.
The charges include maliciously shooting at a house occupied by one or more people, shooting from a vehicle, attempting to maliciously wound five people, using a firearm in each of those attempts, conspiring to shoot at a dwelling, and participating in a gang to commit a criminal act.
The incidents occurred in Accomack County on June 8, 2023. A more exact location was unclear from court records
Taquan Bell, also is accused of strangling an Exmore woman on Dec. 9. He was indicted on that offense in an indictment handed down in January by a Northampton grand jury. The incident is alleged to have occurred on Dec. 9, 2023. The woman told police he pushed her while she was holding their year-old son. She put the child down and Bell “punched in her right eye.” When she pushed his face away, the woman told police, he bit her on the finger before choking her.
