At last week’s Accomack County Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board heard a presentation on the County’s financial standing..

David Foley, a member of Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates, presented the County’s fiscal year 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, along with a separate document outlining recommendations for the County to consider.

Foley reported the General Fund balance totaled 71.2 million dollars as of June 30, 2025. Most of that money was already set aside, including 15 million dollars in the County’s Rainy-Day Fund, nearly 13 million dollars for capital projects and future expenses, and more than 30 million dollars in unspent School Board funding that was typically reallocated to county schools. The unassigned portion of the General Fund stood at about 12.7 million dollars, with 8.8 million already included in the fiscal year 2026 budget, leaving roughly 3.9 million dollars available for future use.
