Accomack DPS recruits to honor 911 Victims

The 24th anniversary of 9/11 will be recognized tomorrow, Thursday, September 11, 2025. The Accomack County Department of Public Safety honors the sacrifices made on that tragic day.

To commemorate the occasion, students from the Accomack County Public Safety Recruit Academy will run with the 9/11 Commemorative Flag and their Recruit Academy flag.

The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Go Glass parking lot on Front Street in Accomac, proceed along Courthouse Avenue, School Street, and Lilliston Avenue, and finish at the Accomack County Administration Building on Front Street. While at the Administration Building, the recruits will complete their physical fitness training.

Residents are encouraged to come out, cheer for the recruits, and remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
