At its quarterly meeting on May 21, 2025, the Virginia Aviation Board approved $4,176,496.12 in funding for 25 improvement projects at 16 airports across the Commonwealth.
Among the recipients, Accomack County Airport was awarded $63,157.89 to support Phase 2 construction of the Runway 21 turnaround. The project is part of a larger Airport Improvement Program (AIP) initiative aimed at enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
The board’s allocations reflect ongoing efforts to modernize airport infrastructure and support regional transportation needs throughout Virginia.
