The Accomack County Board of Supervisors awarded a resolution of recognition to the NASA Wallops Flight Facility in honor of NASA’s 60th Anniversary. Supervisor Ron Wolf presented the award to NASA Director Bill Wrobel at Wednesday night’s meeting. Wrobel thanked the Board and said that Wallops could not have made the achievements here without its support. The resolution contained recognition of the 1750 jobs created at Wallops and the annual payroll figures. Wrobel said that the numbers on the resolution will soon become obsolete with the anticipated increase in employment generated by the Rocket Lab deal.
In his County Administrator’s report, Administrator Mike Mason announced that Rocket Lab has become the first tenant at the Wallops Research Park. Mason said, “today is a big day for Accomack County.”
