The Virginia Aviation Board has approved $4.81 million to support 29 enhancement projects at 16 public-use General Aviation airports across the Commonwealth. The funding was awarded during the board’s quarterly meeting on August 15, 2025.
Among the approved projects is $88,440 for the Accomack County Airport. The allocation will fund the design of a new 100LL fueling system, part of ongoing efforts to modernize facilities at the Melfa-based airport.
According to the Virginia Department of Aviation, the investments are intended to strengthen the state’s system of airports and ensure continued service to communities that rely on general aviation.
In total, projects approved span a range of infrastructure and facility improvements across Virginia’s airport network.
