76 year old Melfa man dead in Monday evening accident

The Virginia State Police is investigating a Monday evening crash that resulted in a fatality on Route 13.

At approximately 6:29 PM, state police responded to a single vehicle crash at 33372 Lankford Highway, in Painter.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2010 Buick Lucerne crashed into the corner section of a two story brick house.  The driver, was found to be unresponsive and ultimately pronounce deceased by medics.

The driver the 2010 Buick Lucerne has been identified as 76 year old Napoleon Claude Coles, of Holly Ridge Drive in Melfa. Notification to next of kin has been made. 

It does not appear that alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
