The Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is proud to announce that plans are well underway for the 59th Annual Auxiliary Ball, returning this year to Historic Vaux Hall Farm in Melfa on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
This signature black-tie affair is being led by Ball Co-Chairs Mrs. Anne Kyle Doughty and Mrs. Brittany Lewis, who are thrilled to announce Mrs. Beverly Mancuso-Misuna, RN, BSN as this year’s Honorary Chair.
Affectionately known as “Bev,” Mrs. Mancuso-Misuna has devoted her career to serving the Eastern Shore through compassionate nursing and healthcare leadership. Since beginning her journey in 1986 at the original Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital (NAM), she has worked across many departments—Medical Floor, ICU, Emergency Department, Operating Room and served as a Nursing Supervisor. She was a founding member of the PICC Team, advanced to Nurse Manager of the ICU, and eventually became Director of Nursing before retiring as a staff nurse.
Beyond her professional service, Bev is a dedicated community advocate. She is a member of the Soroptimist Club of Accomack County, serves on the Eastern Shore Literacy Council Board, and is an active contributor to the Riverside Shore Memorial Ladies Auxiliary. She co-chairs the annual Festival of Lights and volunteers regularly at the Carousel Gift Shop.
Guests at this year’s ball can look forward to an enchanting evening including a secret theme revealed upon arrival at Vaux Hall. The night will feature passed hors d’oeuvres, a gourmet dinner, and decadent dessert catered by The Island House Restaurant & Catering. The signature event will include an open bar, a silent auction, and live music by The Rhythm Section, ensuring a memorable celebration.
As the Auxiliary’s premier annual fundraiser, the Ball continues a legacy that began in the 1920s with a group of visionary women who raised $5,000 to help build the Shore’s first hospital. Today, the Auxiliary includes dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to fund nursing scholarships, continuing education, and special training opportunities for hospital staff, as well as to provide critical items requested by the hospital’s needs committee. Every dollar raised directly enhances the health and wellness of our Eastern Shore community.
