A week that brought over 5 inches of rain to much of the Eastern Shore put to bed the “drought” of 2019.

After almost a month of no measurable rain at all, the heavens opened starting last Sunday continuing Wednesday and with the remains of Tropical Storm Nestor on Sunday bringing between 3 and 5 inches of rain, the dryness is over.

Farmers in the process of cutting corn or soybeans will have to sit out a while.

The forecast calls for a 50% chance of additional rain on Tuesday.
