Travis Matthews, who sold cocaine to a confidential informant for the Eastern Shore Drug Task force on October 24, 2016, was in Accomack County Circuit Court pleading guilty on Thursday.

According to proffered evidence by Commonwealth’s Attorney Randy Foltz, on October 24 at approximately 4:30 PM in Accomac, an informant made a $70 purchase at the residence of Matthews.

Defense attorney Tucker Watson told the court the defendant had no record, therefore, he was asking that he remain on bond until sentencing. Watson explained the defendant was employed at Perdue and had actually turned himself in when he heard the police were looking for him. Watson also entered into the record that this defendant, if sentenced to anytime, would be asking for work release.

Judge Lewis accepted the guilty plea and continued the case until April 18, 2018 for a presentence report allowing the defendant to remain on bond.
