Drug DUI, theft, child neglect and eluding indictments in Accomack

Nine people were indicted Monday by an Accomack Grand Jury on counts related to illegal drugs, eluding police, DUI, theft, and child neglect.

Twenty-three-year-old Malachi Kenol Tull, of Camden Court in Salisbury, Md., was indicted on counts of eluding police, possession with the intent to distribute between a half-ounce and five pounds of marijuana, and possession of ammunition by a felon on Dec. 27, 2024. He was arrested on Jan. 13, 2025.

An officer witnessed a vehicle swerving on Fleming Road in the New Church area and attempted to pull it over, stated court records. The vehicle fled to Vernon Road, which is in a trailer park, went through the park, lost control multiple times, and drove through yards and ditches while residents were outside. It finally stopped on Vernon Road. The driver fled on foot. Drugs and scales were found inside the car, the court file stated.

Thirty-four-year-old Gabrielle Lynn Kromer, of North Street in Melfa, was indicted on counts of possession of fentanyl and neglect of three children under 18 in a manner so gross, wanton, and culpable as to show a reckless disregard for human life. The alleged incidents occurred in October 2024. Kromer was arrested in February 2025.

Forty-three-year-old Mitchell Jay Hardstock Jr., of Oak Ridge Place on Chincoteague, was indicted on a third offense of DWI in 10 years on Dec. 8, 2024. According to court records, Hardstock was stopped after allegedly failing to yield to a stop sign at the intersection of Ridge and Bunting roads. He tested at .11 grams per 210 liters of breath. The legal limit is .08.

Forty-year-old Troy Greggory Wiley, of Liberty Lane in Accomac, was indicted on a count of felony gun possession on Nov. 16, 2024.

Forty-eight-year-old Tefeney Tawanda Smith, of Hill Top Drive in New Church, was indicted on a count of eluding or disregarding police and neglect and abuse of a 10-year-old girl in a manner so gross, wanton, and culpable as to show a reckless disregard for human life. The alleged incidents occurred on Jan. 19, 2025

Forty-seven-year-old Tobias Rodriguez, of Lankford Highway in Exmore, was indicted on a third or subsequent count of DWI after being seen by police weaving across lanes on Lankford Highway near Keller Pond Road on Jan. 11, 2025.

Thirty-nine-year-old Larry Thomas Mears, of Metompkin Road in Parksley, was indicted on a count of unauthorized use of a vehicle belonging to G.L. Williams on Nov. 11, 2024.

Thirty-six-year-old Rebecca Jan Lillian Collins-Sard, of Horntown, was indicted on a Jan. 10, 2025 count of fentanyl possession.

Sixty-four-year-old Darrell Lee Wharton, of Lankford Highway in Accomac, was indicted on a Dec. 31, 2024 count of cocaine possession.
