SPELL-RITE!
Crossword puzzle, game show or spelling bee lovers, mark your calendars now and save the date for an evening of fun benefitting the Eastern Shore Literacy Council. Spell-Rite “Bee for Literacy” will be held on Thursday, May 1 at Eastern Shore Community College. A social hour with a silent auction will start at 5:00 p.m. followed by a catered buffet dinner. A cash bar will be available. Silent auction items include, jewelry, numerous gift certificates from local businesses, summer camps, a private wine class, a weekend pass to SRO GT World Challenge America July 18-20, 2025 at Virginia International Raceway Alton, Virginia, handcrafted items and much more.
Spell-Rite, an entertaining spelling bee competition, features six school spirited teams of spellers vying for the title “Best Spellers on the Shore”. Teams will represent Accawmacke Elementary School, Arcadia High School, Broadwater Academy, Kegotank Elementary School, Metompkin Elementary School, and Occohannock Elementary School.
Tickets for this fundraiser “fun” raiser are now on sale. Only 140 will be sold. Cost is $50. Spell-Rite is the major fundraiser for the Eastern Shore Literacy Council. Proceeds will be used to support Eastern Shore Literacy Council programs.
