Nominated for Best Picture and Best International Film, The Secret Agent takes place amid the political turmoil of 1977 Brazil. A technology expert is forced into hiding and seeks help from the underground resistance as he tries to flee the country with his young son. It’s not just a thriller. This is a film intimately concerned with identity and lineage, with what has been forgotten and what needs to be remembered.  Its gripping portrait of political resistance reminds us that survival is a matter of both watching and watching over one another.
