Kiptopeke Hawk Watch-Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory
FIELD TRIP HIGHLIGHTS: Join veteran birders Joanne Laskowski and Maggie Long to experience the spectacle of fall migrating raptors. The unique topography of the Delmarva Peninsula provides a narrowing bottleneck of land that funnels the raptors toward the Hawkwatch Platform at Kiptopeke State Park. Fourteen raptor species have been recorded at this location. WHEN: Thursday, November 2, beginning at 9:00 a.m. LOCATION: Meet at Kiptopeke State Park Hawk Watch Parking Lot. The Program is free, and the public is invited to attend. Always be prepared for ticks, the sun, mosquitos, and the weather. For more information contact Maggie Long 610-500-9971.
