Chincoteague Island Library to host a Non-Motorized Parade on July 4th

 

All are invited to participate in a July 4th non-motorized parade around Robert Reed Park. Rain or Shine! Walk, ride a bike, pull a wagon, use your imagination. (Sorry, pets are not permitted in the park) Gift cards donated by Island Creamery will be awarded to the oldest participant, the youngest participant, and the largest family group. The parade begins at 10 o’clock.
There will be an opening ceremony with a welcome from Paul Miller, President of the Library Board, an invocation by Rev. Jon Woodburn of the Christ United Methodist Church, and a Mayor’s Welcome by Denise Bowden. Junior Miss Chincoteague, Harper Stewart will be at the parade! America the Beautiful will be performed by Aaron Reaves to kick off the parade!

Uncle Sam will be leading the parade around the park! After the parade lollipops and water will be served. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the parade!

 

Participation in the parade is free and no pre-registration is required!

Assemble for the parade on the walkway adjacent to Bridge Street.
