Openings information for Wednesday, January 8, 2025

Accomack County Schools: Due to continued poor road and parking lot conditions, tomorrow Wednesday, January 8 will be a virtual day for all students and 10 month staff. There will also be a two hour delay for all 12 month employees tomorrow. Essential personnel will be contacted separately.

Northampton County Schools will be operating on a 2 hour delay on January 8th, due to road conditions from the snow and ice. Due to the delay, breakfast will not be served. All staff should report to their work site 2 hours late.

Head Start in Accomack County will be closed Wednesday due to poor road conditions. Hare Valley Head Start will open on a 2 hour delay. No bus transportation will be provided. Parents can drop their children off at the Hare Valley Head Start and pick them up by 3:30 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Eastern Shore Community College will open on a regular schedule on Wednesday with campus being accessible beginning at 8:15AM. A reminder that the class payment deadline has been extended through Wednesday, January 8th.

The St. John’s UMC mobile food bank, located at 10352 Atlantic Road will be closed on Wednesday January 8th 2025.

Accomack County Government. All county facilities except the landfill, South Transfer Station, and Convenience Centers will open at 10:30 today. The county landfill, south transfer station and convenience centers will open on their regular schedule. Check county website for additional updates.

The Parksley DMV Select will open this morning at 11:00 AM. The Onancock DMV will open at its regular time 8:00 AM

Because of inclement weather and a late opening for County facilities, the Accomack County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting scheduled for this morning, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 10am, has been postponed until a future date to be determined.
