Closings and Delays for Thursday January 23, 2025

Due to snow and poor road conditions, Thursday January 23, 2025, will be a snow day for all ACPS students and 10-month staff. Exams for middle and high school students will be on Friday and Monday. There will not be a staff development day, and the teacher workday will be Tuesday, January 28th. The new semester will begin on Wednesday, January 29th. The one missed school day will be added to the calendar at the end of the school year unless the School Board approves taking it from another scheduled day off. All 12-month employees should report at 10 am. The leadership meeting scheduled at AMS for tomorrow will begin at this time.

Northampton Schools: Due to snow and poor road conditions January 23, 2025 will be a virtual learning day for all Northampton school students and 10 month staff. All afternoon and evening activities and events are also cancelled. All 11 and 12 month employees will report to work at 10 a.m. NCPS recognizes that road conditions may impact employee commutes. Therefore, 11 and 12 month employees may contact their supervisor regarding work from home options. Liberal leave is also authorized in lieu of reporting to the work site or working from home. Due to recent closures and delays, NCPS will modify Quarter 2’s schedule. Monday, 1/27/25, will now be a regular instructional day for students. The Teacher workday that was scheduled for Monday, 1/27/25 has been moved to Friday, 1/31/25. There will be no instruction for students on Friday, 1/31/25. This day will also be the last day of the quarter/semester. Grades will go home on Wednesday, 2/5/25.

Broadwater will be closed

ESCC will be on schedule Thursday, January 23

Due to inclement weather, the waterline project on Liberty Street in Onancock is postponed until Monday, January 27.

Head Start Centers in both Accomack and Northampton Counties will be closed Thursday.

Due to the inclement weather the Red Cross has decided to cancel our blood drive at Epworth United Methodist Church for Thursday the 23rd from one to six. We are planning a reschedule date in the near future.

No Limits Eastern Shore Brain Injury Services will be closed tomorrow January 23, 2025.

The ESCSB will be open on Thursday, January 23rd. All ESCSB transportation services are canceled.

STAR Transit will be starting routes at 8am Thursday January 23 due to poor road conditions

Accomack County Government offices will open at 10 am on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The convenience centers, landfill and transfer station will open at their normally scheduled times. Please check the county website for updates.

The Eastern Shore Regional Library & Heritage Center in Parksley and the Northampton Free Library in Nassawadox will open at 11am Thursday.
