Due to the Winter Storm Warning and Governor Youngkin’s announcement, tomorrow, Wednesday February 19th will be a virtual day of instruction for all Accomack County Public School students and 10 month staff. All ACPS facilities will be closed. 12 month staff will work remotely, if possible.

Wednesday, February 19, 2025 will be a virtual/asynchronous learning day for all Northampton County Public Schools students and 10-month staff, due to anticipated severe winter weather. All after-school activities are also canceled for Wednesday, February 19, 2025. All School offices will be closed to all staff except essential personnel, who should report to their work site if required. NCPS recognizes that road conditions may impact employee commutes. Therefore, 11 and 12-month employees may contact their supervisor regarding work-from-home assignments. Liberal leave for 11 and 12-month employees is also authorized.

Broadwater Academy closed Wednesday.

Head Start Centers are closed for in person school. Virtual classes will be provided for all students.

The Memory Cafe scheduled for Wednesday, February 19th at the ES Public Library has been cancelled due to expected inclement weather. Please join us at the next Cafe on March 19th.

The Wednesday Meals for the Hungry dinner at Epworth Methodist Church is cancelled. 

Mary N. Smith Alumni Association February Senior Bingo scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2025 has been canceled.

The Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting & Public Hearing scheduled for February 19, 2025 has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Chambers, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Accomac. Public Hearing will be at 6:00 p.m. More information can be found on the Accomack County website.

Due to pending inclement weather, Habitat’s BBQ & Brews event has been moved to February 28th. Habitat’s February Freeze dip in the Bay is still on for February 22nd. Pre-Registration for the event has been moved to Saturday between 9:30 am and 11:00 am at the Cape Charles Beach right before the dip.

Due to the forecasted winter storm, Eastern Shore Community College will be closing at 12pm on Wednesday 2/19, and campus will remain closed on Thursday and Friday 2/20-2/21. The ESCC Arts Festival scheduled for Saturday 2/22 has been moved to Saturday 3/1. If conditions warrant an earlier closing on Wednesday, announcements will be made here.

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans’ mobile office hours on Chincoteague have been postponed to a later date.

Due to the impending weather, the Foodbank’s mobile pantries for Cheriton and Hallwood scheduled for Wednesday, 2/19 have been cancelled.

Accomack County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court will be closed Wednesday 2/19 & Thursday 2/20 due to impending weather.

Due to the impending inclement weather, the ESCSB has decided to cancel all client related services for Wednesday and Thursday.

No Limits Eastern Shore Brain Injury Services will be closed Wednesday February 19,2025.

Accomack County Circuit Court closed Wednesday.

Accomack and Northampton General District Court will be closed today.

All Eastern Shore Rural Health locations – centers, Express Care, school dental and pharmacies – will be open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 19 due to forecasted inclement weather. Patients with appointments that have been cancelled will be called by Rural Health staff to reschedule.

Northampton County Government Offices, Convenience Centers & Transfer Station will close at noon on Wed., Feb 19th and remain closed all day on Thurs., Feb 20th

Painter Volunteer Fire Department will not have Bingo at the Fire House on Wednesday.

Eastern Shore Center for Independent Living will be closed Wednesday February 19, 2025

Rhyme and Reason Montessori school will have a half day of school on Wednesday with dismissal at 11:30

Northampton County Circuit Court and Clerks office will be closed Wed-Thurs Feb. 19th and 20th .

Eastern Shore Center for independent living will be closed Wednesday Feb. 19.

No trash collection on Melfa on Thursday . Trash collection will resume on Feb.27

The Eastern Shore Foot Center, office of Dr. Wayne Chin will close at noon today,

STAR Transit will end bus routes early today. The last route will start at. 10 am weather permitting,

Parksley & Onancock DMV are closed today.

Riverside Medical Group physician practices and the Riverside Shore Cancer Center will close at 3pm on Wednesday and will be closed on Thursday. Riverside Shore Home Health and Hospice will close at noon on Wednesday and will be closed on Thursday. Riverside Physical Therapy will close at noon on Wednesday and will be closed Thursday. Riverside Cardiopulmonary Rehab will close at noon on Wednesday and will be closed Thursday.

Accomac Optometric Center will be closing Wednesday 2/19/2025 at 1pm and our office will be closed Thursday 2/20/2025. If you have a scheduled appointment on Friday, please listen to WESR or check our Facebook page.

Accomack County Government facilities including landfill, south transfer station and convenience centers are closing early today at 11 AM due to inclement weather.

The Eastern Shore Regional Library & Heritage Center and the Northampton Free Library will be closing at noon today. Cape Charles Memorial Library will be closing at noon today. Chincoteague Island Library will be closing at 1PM.

Blue Crow Antique Mall closed today.

Bayside Rehabilitation offices in Cheriton, Belle Haven, Onley and Wallops will closed Wed at noon and be closed Thursday.

The Chincoteague Island Library is closing at 1:00 PM today, February 19.

H & R Office In Onley closing at 1 PM today.

PenFed Credit Union will be closing at 12:45 today because of the inclement weather

UPS Store in Onley closed.  

District 4 Probation and Parole in Accomac is closing at 1:00 p.m.  All evening groups are cancelled for 2/19/

Dos Santos Thrift and Food Pantry will close @2:30 and remain closed Thursday.

The Pungoteague C’ommunity Food Pantry has been cancelled for today,

The Fire and Ice event sponsored by the Riverside Hospital Auxiliary has been postponed until Saturday March 8
