Closings and cancellations for Friday, February 21

Accomack County Schools will have a virtual learning day Friday 2/21 for students and 10 month staff. 12 month staff will have a 2 hour delay. The Success Academy scheduled for Saturday, February 22 is also cancelled.

Friday February 21, 2025, will be a virtual/asynchronous learning day for all Northampton County Public Schools students and 10-month staff. All afternoon and evening activities, practices, and events are also canceled. School offices and central office buildings will be closed to all staff except essential personnel, who should report to their work site if required. 11- and 12-month employees should contact their supervisors regarding work-from-home assignments. Liberal leave is also authorized for 11/12 month employees in lieu of working from home.

Broadwater Academy will continue with remote learning for all students Friday, February 21st. Campus will be closed.

Head Start in both Accomack and Northampton County will have virtual learning Friday, February 21, 2025.

Accomac Christian Academy will be closed on February 21.

The Success Academy scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd is canceled.

Accomack County Government facilities will be on a delayed opening until 10:00 am on Friday, February 20, 2025.  Solid waste facilities including the landfill, South transfer station and convenience centers will open at their normal operating time. Please check County website for updates.

Northampton County Administration offices including transfer station and convenience centers will open at regular times on Friday, February 21st.

Due to pending inclement weather, Habitat’s BBQ & Brews event has been moved to February 28th. Habitat’s February Freeze dip in the Bay is still on for February 22nd. Pre-Registration for the event has been moved to Saturday between 9:30 am and 11:00 am at the Cape Charles Beach right before the dip.

Eastern Shore Community College closed today. The ESCC Arts Festival scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until. Saturday 3/1.

RSMH Auxiliary Fire & Ice has been postponed to March 8.

STAR Transit will be starting all bus routes at 10Am on Friday February 22, 2025 Weather and road conditions permitting.

The Foodbank in Tasley will be closed on Friday, February 20, 2025. The Mobile Pantry scheduled for Saturday; February 21 at Bayview Heritage is also cancelled.

The Eastern Shore CSB will be closed Friday

Davis Disposal will continue their service Friday and will work into the weekend if necessary to catch up.

No Limits Brain Injury Services will be closed Friday  2/21.

Onley Pre School will open Friday at 9:30.

H&R Block offices in Belle Haven and Onley will be closed Friday

Accomack J&DR court closed Friday.

Accomack County Circuit Court and the Clerk’s office will be closed Friday. 2/21.

Northampton County Circuit Court and Clerk’s Office will be closed Fri., Feb. 21st, 2025, due to inclement weather.

All Eastern Shore Rural Health centers, school dental units, and pharmacies will open at 10 a.m. Friday Feb. 21 due to inclement weather. Patients will be called to reschedule appointments. Express Care will be open normal hours, from noon until 8 p.m.

The Accomack Northampton Planning District Commission Regional Housing Authority and the E.S. of Va. Regional Housing Alliance will be closed Friday. 2/21.

Eastern shore foot center, office of Doctor Wayne chin will open at 10am Friday.

Eastern Shore Center for Independent Living will be closed tomorrow, Friday February 21, 2025.

H&R Block offices in Belle Haven and Onley will be closed Friday. 

Onancock Building Supply and OBS Eastville will open at 8:30 on Friday February 21st.

District 4 Probation and Parole is closed for 2/21/25. Please contact your officer to reschedule appointments.

First Horizon Bank Onancock and Cheriton banking centers will open at 11:00AM on Friday February 21st.

Accomack and Northampton General District Courts are closed today.

The scheduled Teacher Professional Development Day on Wednesday, Feb. 26 will become a regular instructional day.  Students are expected to attend school as usual and regular class schedules will be followed.

The annual NAACP  “Freedom Fund Banquet” is cancelled for tomorrow and will be held next Saturday , March 1st.  Reception at 5 PM and the program starts at 6 PM.
