Kahlil Muslimani is back in court today, this time in Virginia Beach. Muslimani is facing multiple charges of molesting his stepdaughter Stacey Johnson. Muslimani has already been sentenced to two life terms plus 20 years for sexually molesting his niece. That trial was held in Accomack County Circuit Court but a judge accepted a motion to move the latest trial due to the publicity prior trials received on the Eastern Shore.
When asked that since Muslimani will not see the outside of a jail for the rest of his life, why was another trial on similar charges even be conducted, former Commonwealth’s Attorney Gary Agar said that Johnson, in this case, deserved to have the charges prosecuted to provide closure.
Johnson is now 42, and said she’s fighting for justice and the childhood she lost. “I’ve spent my whole life being a people pleaser. And I want to be happy,” she said.
