SALISBURY, Md. (Nov. 2, 2017) — Every Happy Meal® that is sold at all 37 McDonald’s® Restaurants of Eastern Shore locations on Thursday, Nov. 9 will include a handwritten thank you card from a family that has stayed at the Ronald McDonald House as a way to show appreciation to local McDonald’s customers for their support year-round.
Local Delmarva McDonald’s owner/operators donate $.05 from every Happy Meal purchase throughout the year to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Baltimore (RMHC). This donation, along with additional support from generous McDonald’s customers, helps the Ronald McDonald House serve nearly 1,500 families annually from around the world.
“RMHC was founded to provide a ‘home-away-from-home’ for families of children receiving healthcare at area medical facilities,” RMHC Baltimore President and Chief Executive Officer, Sandy Pagnotti, said. “The generosity of volunteers, donors, and our local McDonald’s owner/operators and customers make it possible for the Ronald McDonald House to keep families together and close, regardless of their ability to pay.”
“We appreciate the generosity of our customers and want to make sure they understand the local impact they are making year-round with each Happy Meal purchase,” Local McDonald’s Owner/Operator and President of the Eastern Shore Co-Op, Mike Meoli, said. “We hope the handwritten thank you cards will put a smile on the faces of those making a difference.”
