Linda Parks Parker, 68, of Cherry Hill Road, Parksley, passed away peacefully and in the company of her children on December 20, 2017 in Charlottesville, VA.

Born on August 6, 1949, she was the daughter of the late George Russell Parks and Doris Sylvia Adkins Parks. Linda was a graduate of Arcadia High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University and her Master’s from Old Dominion University. She was a Librarian and Media Specialist for Arcadia High School for 41 years. Linda was a member of Zion Baptist Church for most of her life and also attended Parksley Baptist Church.

Linda dedicated her life to helping others. She lived her life full of kindness, love, and grace. Linda will continue to live on in our hearts and memories.

Linda is survived by her daughter Jenna and husband Ryan of Texas; her son, Adam and wife Kristy of Charlottesville; her grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, and Jonathan Parker; her sister, Susan Turner of Parksley; and two aunts, Nora Lee Parks of Parksley and Jane Sawyer of Accomac.

A Celebration of her life will be conducted on Sunday, January 14th at 3:00 PM from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.

There will also be a service remembering Linda in Charlottesville on January 13th at 1:00PM at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
